As the events of last weekend unfold, let me just say how much we are in prayer for the families of the victims of the shootings last weekend. It has been such a “close to home” tragedy. We have connections to many Homewood Flossmoor High school people who lost a social worker, Carrie Hudek Chiuso, and we have people who were related to her. I know we will find other connections to our own family. It was practically in our own back yard. Please continue to pray that they catch the person who did it and pray for the families. Please pray for the Tinley Park Mayor who is a part of Parkview, Ed Zabrocki, and the many police and officials who’ve had to deal with this tragedy.
It is always hard to understand when something like this occurs, and especially when it was SO senseless.
It is yet again another reminder of the fact that our lives and our treasures and our relationships should all be grounded in eternity. At some future point, to which we have no degree of knowledge, we will be leaving this world and heading to our perfect eternal home.
Click on the TRAIN – Bible Study for the day and let Philippians 4 speak into it.
I do know that God can use this situation for good. There will be a lot more openness in the hearts of those around you to having eternity discussions. A tragedy like this helps everyone understand their own finality. I hope you will listen with Holy Spirit’s ears to the conversations around you.
Let’s join together in lifting up the families of Jennifer Bishop, Carrie Hudek Chiuso, Rhoda McFarland, Sarah Szafranski, and Connie Woolfolk.
Praying,
Tim
AMEN. We Pray with you.

I was so touched by your comment "what could have happened if this man had wandered into a church the weekend before & heard the message of grace ..." Thank you, Lord that we are such a place, help us to always be that light on a hill that draws the lost to You.

I sure wished the man would have stopped by and heard the message on anger and grace... MAYBE his heart would have been healed... I too was touched by "what could have happened" Hopefully the families find peace and so will he but hopefully he's arrested too.

Dear Father God,
Your Holy Word tells me that You came in our likeness, in the appearance of man, inasmuch then as the children partook of flesh and blood, You Yourself likewise shared in the same, that through death You might destroy him who had the power of death.
Father, You are He who lives and was dead and You are alive forevermore. Though You were crucified, yet You live by the power of God. Therefore, I humbly ask of you Lord, that you manifest your spirit of peace to the families of Jennifer Bishop, Carrie Hudek Chiuso, Rhoda McFarland, Sarah Szafranski, and Connie Woolfolk.
Father I also ask that you give our Mayor, Ed Zabrocki, strength and wisdom so He may continue to govern in a manner that pleases you and brings him and his constituency peace during these troubled times.
Finally, Lord God Almighty, continue to bless our Church, all of its staff and our earthly friend, our heavenly brother and our spiritual leader, Pastor Tim and his beautiful family.
Guide our church Lord in these turbulent times, help us to see sin through your eyes and help us all to remember that You abolished death.
In Christ Jesus, I pray…
